This is my favorite shot from the night. I love the gold fireworks.

It was still a bit light out when the show started and it made a awesome background for the first photos
Went to see the fireworks in Forest Grove Last night! Got some neat shots. I am very excited.
This show is fantastic. Gives the facts to help us become more aware and make informed decisions about the sustainability of the resources in this country. When moving cross country it hit me hard how much energy it takes to fuel this country. This show expands my mind even more and could be the most valuable piece of television out there right now. Thank you PBS.
Articles come out in major news areas like The New York Times and FOX. They tout these headlines about food that are so misleading.
If its coming from a major news source these days there is a good chance its just trying to direct americans to buy what big corporations want them to buy.
Have you ever heard the origins of banana’s in the american life style? It was a whole messed up propaganda for some guy to make millions that involves murder corruption and lies.
Corn is terrible for you. Right now people all over the world are boycotting and protesting against GMO corn. Starbucks may support gay marriage but they exploit third world farmers to get that tasty coffee to you. Snickers may have your daily dose of protein but really? Do you think a candy bar is the answer to your dietary needs? Fast food burgers should not be a measure of how good red meat is for you. There is no such thing as a light fully loaded nacho plate. There is no such thing as “diet” soda. Pizza is not a vegetable.
You want to be healthy? Don’t stop at the headline. Read the convoluted message in the body of the article or do what I do and assume its some kind of fucked up lie to keep americans on the cattle car to obesity and early death.
It would be fantastic if somehow with all of this political upheaval we not only achieved political change but also a cultural change. It would be nice if we stopped arrogantly thinking our way is the only way. If we stop making assumptions the other side is stupid and if we just keep “informing them” they will start thinking correctly.
The only truth is that no one person can know everything. We think small scale but live in a huge country where there many different cultures and millions of different stories. We do not all see from the same eyes. Only in working together can we accomplish anything. Our only goal should be to have compassion for our fellow man, to not steal or cheat our neighbor because you are stealing and cheating your self at the same time. To not judge who deserves help based on our biases and assumptions about their lives. Especially when we are not providing everyone with a equal opportunity to rise above their situation and be everything they can be.
We need to reconsider what we value. If something is cheep and quick it will not sustain you or bring you fulfillment. We need to learn to value quality, waste less, and appreciate what we have.
