For your eyes only
When I lived in Oneonta, NY my brother-in-law brought over a couple pieces of roof slates he had found in the basement of his very old house. I loved them and began carving things into them. Later the 200 year old church began to take their old slate roof off and discard of them. I asked the minister if I could have the slate. She allowed me to take a giant bin of it.
You have all probably seen my 15” X 15” black lotus cut out of silhouette paper. My plan is to create something like this but more detailed like a mandala. I would like to master symmetry and improve my skills as a stone carver.
These pieces of art will only be posted here on tumblr. I have a wonderful group of folks here and am really excited to share my work. Here is hoping my little experiment is a success.
