More Rock Lamps
A Wandering Soul
Work from the past
I love making rock lamps. These are some I made in the past. :)
I repainted my walls orange. It looks much better so I had to retake the photos I did of the lamp I made.
I make rock lamps from the local stones. All of my past lamps were made with New York stones found in the Susquehanna River. We recently moved to Oregon. This is my first lamp made with the local Basalt stone. I flippen love it!
So as you may know I make rock lamps. This is my first set of Oregon rock for my first lamp made here. Next month I get a new drill press and some diamond core bits.
These rocks are so cool with their air bubbles. They are volcanic rock and have small crystals in some of the pockets.
I spent hours looking at rocks to get them to perfectly stack even before the rod is placed in them as well as make a smooth transition as you move up the lamp. I worked hard to get these rocks too. Lugging them up a sea side cliff trail. It is going to be an awesome lamps when it is done!
I thought it would be cool to post some of my past art work. This is the coolest lamp I ever made. I place a metal rod through drilled rocks I kayaked for from the Susquehanna River. I am excited to try out some volcanic rock now that I am in Oregon.
This is the kind of rock I would like to use for my next rock lamps. This will look SO cool! I can’t wait to get rolling on them. Just need to sell some candles and I can get my drill press.
