Soapstone Lake, Oregon
Soapstone Lake, Oregon
Reflective
It has been pretty hot lately and as a result I have not been getting much sleep. We have been picking some low key favorites to hike on the weekend until the month of May starts acting like its old self again.
Today we went to Soapstone Lake. I found some lichen I was looking for to complete my terrarium and saw this pretty little hornet’s nest. I let it be just snapping the photo.
My grandmother used to have a giant one of these. Maybe like two feet across and a foot wide. it had fallen out of a tree in her yard or something. It had hung in her house for like 20 years and one day my dad went to take it down and a hornet came out!! Ha! Anyway, I think they are beautiful and wanted to share. :D
Feeling sluggish.
Spirits of The Forest
I will never get tired of photographing waterfalls out here. I love it!
Things like this really impress me. That web is holding quite a bit of water. Way to go uber web building spider!
Storey Burn Trail
This was so pretty I had to take a photo. Drops of water are a big favorite of mine.
The Mouth of Devil’s Churn
Flaming Log
I didn’t notice this on the way in. It must have taken quite a bit of time to make. I thought it was really neat and was glad I spotted it on the way back out.
More cool beaver teeth marks. I liked how they were bright orange.
I think beavers are the coolest. Think about it, a creature that chews through trees and builds dams. How cool is that?
More photos tomorrow. I had a rough week and need to go relax for a while. Have a good one.
