Siuslaw River Bridge
The photo I took was standing with my back to the little coastal town. The bridge was built in 1936 and is the kind that lifts up when boats pass through. Here is the Wikipedia article on its history.
The whole town is really cute and there are all these houses right on the tidal inlet. Some of them look like they are on mini islands in a salt water marsh. Driving through it felt isolated outside of the town. It felt safe and like a secret.
When we visit this town we head to the Bay Street Grill. They have some amazing clam chowder and chips. This is coming from an East Coast girl. We also got some really good coffee from Siuslaw River Coffee Roasters. Their place was pretty much the cutest coffee shop I have ever seen.
